What I enjoy about my job

I am relatively new in my current position; I have been here about two months now and it has been eventful. I appreciate the ability to have a relaxed environment where we can have a calm office and not the typical hectic Army tempo. There are some values that this current organization has that I do appreciate. One of the first things that was mentioned to me when I first reported was, they do not care what it is but I will be doing some kind of educational progression, this is weird because leaders in different organizations say this but don’t actually mean it or enforce it. This is a challenging position because of who I am working for and sometimes the quick turn around to be out the door on a mission and very little time to let family know or make other appropriate accommodations. Although the turn around is quick on leaving having a relaxed work environment allows us to be proficient at our jobs and able to perform at a moments notice. Within this organization there is not a single person or member of the team that makes it good for me. I think as an entire team we work well together and personalities mesh well. They all come from different backgrounds in life, different experiences so having knowledge coming to the table. Overall, I believe that the team we have is a great team and a wealth of knowledge and experience. We all get the opportunity to value family time and focus on personal growth because although we work hard, we need to ensure to we have that balance and that is something we are all on the same page about.
